Super Analog Stylus (SAS) Profile Tip
The tip of the is carefully chosen from single-crystal natural diamonds. The laser-cut diamond closely resembles that of the cutting stylus used on a cutting lathe to produce the acetate master disks used in vinyl production. This allows the SAS tip to reach into the deepest recesses of the record groove in order to retrieve details which were previously inaccessible to other stylus profiles. Due to its wide contact area with the groove wall, the SAS can reproduce a more expansive bandwidth of information with higher fidelity.
Cantilever
is one of the most suitable materials for cantilevers. its density is low, Young’s modulus is large, and the speed of sound propagation is approximately 2.6 times faster than that of aluminum. Due to the characteristics above, boron cantilever can more precisely trace the information contained in the record grooves than aluminum cantilever.
There is NO interchangeability between VN5MR and VN5xMR. Please confirm your cartridge / stylus number and select suitable stylus.

This stylus performs at least as well as the original Shure VN5MR. I haven’t tested the traceability with the Telarc 1812 yet, but on normal records it tracks very vell and produces a very natural sound.
Jico as a company works in a very professional way that gives you confidene in them. Very good communication, and prompt response on questions.
    Highly recommended

Ciao, I have received the stylus at last w.e., I’m confused, they sounds almost better of my great Benz Ruby 3H ….. I’m very happy. Thank you!!!!

Back when Shure announced they were discontinuing the V15VxMR, I bought the cartridge, and three OEM replacement styli. I’m on my 3rd OEM stylus now, but between the 2nd and 3rd one, I tried the JICO.
I like it a lot! One tends to overemphasize differences between two components when one is reviewing, so let me say from the beginning their sound is more similar than different-they are roughly at the same level.
The JICO is slightly more crisp, detailed, with a bit finer articulation than the OEM Shure. It sounds like its treble is more extended, and tipped up slightly, compared to the OEM. Tracking is excellent with both, with NO end of side mistracking, but I think the JICO has a slight advantage on tracking.
The OEM Shure sounds slightly softer, rounder, fuller, smoother. Kind of like the dif between a really good SS amp, and a good tube amp, with the JICO being slightly more SS like.
I can live with either, but in my system, the OEM Shure is a better match. Plus the OEM Shure lasts longer than the JICO. I can get 2-3 years out of it, the way I play. 400-500 hrs is about tops with the JICO, just like they say.
That said, when the time comes, I’m going to order another JICO, especially since the OEM Shure is now out of production. I’m now in no hurry to try a pricier MC…the $199 Shure does very well, with high quality replacement styli like JICO makes. Thanks, JICO!
