Super Analog Stylus (SAS) Profile Tip
The tip of the is carefully chosen from single-crystal natural diamonds. The laser-cut diamond closely resembles that of the cutting stylus used on a cutting lathe to produce the acetate master disks used in vinyl production. This allows the SAS tip to reach into the deepest recesses of the record groove in order to retrieve details which were previously inaccessible to other stylus profiles. Due to its wide contact area with the groove wall, the SAS can reproduce a more expansive bandwidth of information with higher fidelity.
Cantilever
is one of the most suitable materials for cantilevers. its density is low, Young’s modulus is large, and the speed of sound propagation is approximately 2.6 times faster than that of aluminum. Due to the characteristics above, boron cantilever can more precisely trace the information contained in the record grooves than aluminum cantilever.

I agree with other reviewers that this stylus is a significant upgrade for the Shure M97xE cartridge. I was able to demonstrate the improvement using the HiFi News test LP for set up on my Rega P3-24 turntable. The LP includes a sequence of 4 progressively harder tracking tests that produce distortion if tracking is not ideal. After some adjustment of bias and tracking force, the SAS stylus performed perfectly up to test #3, whereas the original Shure stylus failed after test #2. (#4 is a “torture track” that is probably impossible for any cartridge/stylus combination in this price range). Of course, the SAS sounds great on music too! Highly recommended.

I would argue this is a must upgrade for this particular cartridge. While the standard stylus sounds perfectly fine, the depth of clarity of this SAS is brilliant.
The genius is that it achieves this clarity without the jarring high end of say an AT440Mla, while still retaining a warm middle range.
